GIVING TO ISLAND STAGE LEFT:
Island Stage Left's funding is almost entirely from voluntary contributions. Production design elements are kept deliberately simple and the concentration is on acting and interpretation. In this way the company is able to focus on the art of acting and on serving the island community of which it is a part.
Island Stage Left is a non-profit 501 c3 corporation. All donations are tax-deductible and gratefully received. You can use the Donate button below for PayPal, or send checks directly to:

THE STAR CIRCLE PROGRAM FOR SUSTAINABLE STAGE LEFT:
Program Background
Island Stage Left has been providing free professional theatre in the San Juan Islands since 1997. Over 50 productions of Shakespeare, both classical and contemporary productions have been performed since it's inception. Presenting three to four plays a year this company has become an island institution, providing many children and adults with their first exposure to professional acting and Shakespeare.
Although Island Stage Left collects voluntary donations (bucket at the gate), their survival largely relies on the personal dedication of Helen Machin-Smith and Daniel Mayes. The time has come to put Island Stage Left on a firm and sustainable footing to assure that Helen and Dan can continue their marvelous passion and that the company will continue to provide us all with world-class theatre well into the future.
Program Objective
In order to achieve long term sustainability, the board of ISL, in consultation with the San Juan Island Community Foundation, has developed a business plan which retains the founding vision of providing professional theatre to all island residents and visitors regardless of their income or financial status, while introducing two new special programs that will establish a reliable funding source. These programs include an annual public fund raising letter and the creation of a Sustainable Stage Left Star Circle Fund.
Stage Left Star Circle
Individual or family donors contributing $1000 or more annually, become members of the Star Circle. Star Circle members will be listed in the show programs unless they have requested to be anonymous. All members (couples) are invited to a newly created, Star Circle Gala performance which will include a special preview showing of a selected performance coupled with pre-show cocktails, private dinner event and post show reception with the actors. This will be an annual event for Circle Members. Circle members will also be able to call ahead for up to four reserved seats at any performance.
